Connecting Through Culture, Updates

Community Art & Cultural Announcements

Community Arts Updates

Dear MACK Community,

If you have an arts-related program or partnership opportunity to share with our MACK community, please submit your program flyer (one page) by the 1st of each month.

Please email McCormickArts@gmail.com with a high-resolution PDF, PNG, or JPEG. We will make every effort to include submissions in our Community Arts section whenever possible.

New Dance Opportunity Comes to Willington / McCormick:

Contra Dance Night on February 6

McCormick, SC | You are invited to enjoy an evening of music, movement, and connection at a Contra Dance on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Mims Community Center, located at 2458 Hwy 81 North, McCormick (Willington), SC 29835.

Contra dance is a welcoming form of traditional folk dancing featuring long lines of dancers who interact together through simple, guided movements. Dances are performed at a comfortable walking pace and are taught step-by-step by a caller, making the experience accessible for beginners and enjoyable for experienced dancers alike. No partner is necessary, and the event takes place in a smoke-free and alcohol-free environment.

Doors will open at 4:45 PM, with announcements beginning at 5:15 PM. The program will run through 7:30 PM. The first half hour will include time for socializing and light snacks. Every dance is taught before it begins.

The program fee is $10, and tips for musicians are always welcome. The event is open to all ages and experience levels, and attendees are encouraged to invite friends.

Organizers hope to have 40+ participants for this inaugural dance – Grab a partner or join on your own!

A Note on Our Website

The MACK is undergoing some wonderful transformations, both internally and through our rehabilitation project. We recently updated our bylaws, adjusted our fiscal year, and completed Phase 2 of the MACK Rehabilitation Project. While our shop and programs are going strong, we have had to adjust our resources accordingly.

Focusing on these critical priorities has meant less time for regular website and social media updates. Some content may be out of date, and we will begin the process to work through our pages and look forward to making this site a reliable communication tool again. Our News Feed and email newsletter content is current and will serve as our core communication tools as needed.

In the meantime, for anything MACK-related, please email us directly at McCormickArts@gmail.com.
