March is National Youth Art Month!

Youth Art Month is traditionally held annually in March and provides the opportunity to “celebrate visual art education for grades K – 12” according to the National Art Educators Association. This national program helps to share the value and importance of recognizing essential development skills uniquely experienced through visual arts experiences. These skills include problem-solving, creativity, observation, and communication, states the Council for Art Education (CFAE) are national leaders of Youth Art Month.

The MACK participates as an active partner to the McCormick County School District to help ensure local students receive a quality arts education. Arts in basic curriculum program help the arts department and team members to implement strategic planning, prioritizing curriculum and instruction, standard-based learning, high-quality arts, and cultural experiences opportunities, as well as seeking additional resources for supplies and materials and professional development.
