SC Arts Alliance: $3.5 million more for the arts in State Budget / $20 Million through ESSER III

State Budget Includes $3.5 Million More for the Arts
On June 21, both the House and the Senate adopted the Budget Conference Committee Report, which recommended a total of $3.5 million more for the arts:

$2 million (one-time funding) for COVID Relief grants.

Increase of $1.5 million (recurring funding) for general operating support grants.
$20 Million for Arts Education Announced in South Carolina
A $20 million partnership was announced at a press conference Tuesday, June 29 between the South Carolina Department of Education and South Carolina Arts Commission which will help public schools throughout the state address pandemic related learning loss with proven, arts-based learning initiatives.
